Lore:Original Characters

The Official Mothermara Pages

Hello and welcome to the Mothermara Cinematic Universe. This page contains basic overviews of prominent characters that appear in my various fanworks, but isn't an exhaustive list because I am unwell. Looking at this page may raise questions, and you can direct those questions to my askbox on tumblr, or to whatever gods you may heed to.

Thanks for visiting!

A

Akamai & Satamai Al-Woebrooke

Akamai & Satamai Al-Woebrooke were twins born simultaneously, in different planes, at the end of the Middle Dawn. When the Dragonbreak ended, the two were spat out into 3rd era High Rock, right after the Warp in the West. While Satamai's friendly nature quickly earned him the good graces of a noble family known as the Carias, Akamai began working as a mercenary for the Lord of Orsinium, Gortwog gro-Nagorm, after a chance encounter in which she saved his life from assassins.

Alessius Atius

Alessius was an Imperial Agent of the Blades during 3E 344, and played in instrumental role in the investigation of a tragedy that befell a Cyrodillic village by the name of Thorncrest.

Athile

Athile was a Dunmer born into the Sixth House, who eventually found himself at the side of the Nerevarine during his time in Morrowind.

B

Badbr gro-Batog

Badbr was an Orsimer barbarian who spent her childhood in the frigid streets of Bruma with her younger brother. While the two eventually moved to Largashbur, their new Orcish way of life came with its own challenges. When her brother died trying to prove himself to the chief, Badbr left the stronghold to become a mercenary, and found her place in the Beastfolk Company.

Bartalomewl

Bartalomewl was a Bosmer assassin, having been taken into the Dark Brotherhood as a child after killing his cruel grandmother. He spent his early years under the tutelage of Lucien Lachance at the Cheydinhal sanctuary, before taking up bigger jobs in his teenhood. His path ultimately culminated in Lucien's death and the destruction of the Cheydinhal sanctuary. Despite his new role as listener, Bartalomewl grew increasingly discontent with his life as an assassin, and eventually struck out on his own.

After numerous years of adventures, he met his end in 4E 201 at the hands of the Brotherhood's leader, Astrid.

Bog

Bog was the half-Falmer child of a demiprince known as Maces. As a direct descendent of Hircine, Bog was afflicted with a degree of lycanthropy, though he was known to be far more mild-mannered than the average beast-blooded mortal.

C

Cornelia Lerus

Cornelia was an Imperial tavern worker and aspiring scholar, who lived in Leyawiin through its occupation by the Thalmor during the Great War.

D

Dale & Steve

Dale & Steve were demigods of Zenithar and Julianos, respectively. While they were best known for their antics across Tamriel, they were also known to appear to heroes in their time of need to encourage them to persevere.

E

Eloise Motierre

Eloise (formerly known as Orla) was born just outside the Reachfolk settlement of Lost Valley. As a child, she often spent her days playing with the future Last Dragonborn, Vele, who she formed a strong bond with. Unfortunately, her village was ransacked by Nord mercenaries when she was 13, and she was taken to Markarth to be re-educated by the Priestesses of Dibella. While she eventually escaped in her late teens, she found herself unwilling to return home. Instead, she travelled across Skyrim as a thief, often posing as a Breton noblewoman to get into aristocratic parties. Her path crossed once again with Vele's at a party held at the Thalmor Embassy in 4E 201.

Ezimar

Prior to Frostfall of 3E 417, Ezimar was known as two separate entities: Emara and Ezifyr. Emara was a mortal girl born in the 3rd era in High Rock, who went on to study at the Benevolence of Mara in her teenage years. Meanwhile, Ezifyr was a wandering daedroth who originated in Nocturnal's court. The two were unintentionally fused due to Ezifyr's untimely possession of Emara during the Warp in the West.

Now known as Ezimar, they decided on a plan of action: to enact fatal retribution on Molag Bal. Ezimar set themself to work to win over the favor of several Daedric Princes, most notably Boethiah, Meridia, Mephala and Nocturnal. It began with sowing seeds of doubt among the denizens of Coldharbour, whose faith had been shaken by Molag Bal’s defeat at the hands of the Vestige in the 2nd era. Soon enough, a coup was in action. After a long battle, Ezimar defeated the Prince and claimed his throne.

F

Frogsmouth

Frogsmouth was an Argonian fisherman in Riften in the 4th era. He lived a simple but fulfilling life with this wife, Wujeeta, and daughter, Desnia.

M

Maces

Maces was the son of Hircine and the demiprince of equilibrium. He was born by the name Volk Honey-Glade in the late 3rd era to a woman who was found wandering the grounds of a meadery in the Rift with her newborn son. Though Fianna was odd-mannered and unable to speak Nordic, the owners of the meadery took pity on her, and allowed her into their home.

While Maces had a relatively normal upbringing, everything changed when the Oblivion Crisis came. A small gate opened on the lands of the meadery, and in all his teenage hubris, he decided he would be the one to close it. He successfully fought his way through the gate with his family's farmhand, but as it began to collapse, he found himself transported to Hircine's hunting grounds, where he would stay for a number of years.

Maces would eventually return to the Rift as the Fanged Stag- a terrifying monster that would lure foolhardy hunters to their deaths.

N

Nemesianus "Neht" Jirich

Nemesianus was raised in the city of Anvil in Cyrodiil, by the priestesses of Dibella. While his upbringing was relatively happy, he was all too eager to fight for what he believed in, with no regards for the consequences. This got him into trouble when he confronted a corrupt guardsman who had been terrorizing the city. Following this, he was chosen as a candidate for the Nerevarine Prophecies and brought to Morrowind.

The path of the Nerevarine was a long and painful one, but Nemesianus, now going by the moniker of "Neht", eventually triumphed. By 3E 433, he had returned to Cyrodiil with his husband, Athile, and taken over his deceased mothers' duties in the House of Dibella.

R

Rasara

Rasara, also known as Sheorasara after mantling Sheogorath in the late 3rd era, was the daughter of a notorious pirate queen and a privateer, who had both settled down in the city of Sentinel upon her birth.

Despite her peaceful childhood, Rasara found herself enraptured by the seafaring lifestyle. At 17, she stole her father’s ship and set sail into the Iliac Bay with her first mate, Seafrost, and their ragtag pirate crew. In just a few years, Rasara and her crew had garnered fame and infamy alike for their exploits across the Abecean Sea. It was only after the particularly overambitious feat of boarding a Sea Giant longboat in Sun’s Height of 3E 433 that Rasara was captured by an Imperial galleon on the wreckage of her ship and brought to the Imperial City Prison for sentencing.

Not long after, Rasara was set upon the path of righteousness as the Hero of Kvatch, aiding the emperor's last living heir, Martin Septim, in foiling Mehrunes Dagon’s invasion of Tamriel. In the aftermath of the daedric prince’s defeat, Rasara tried her best to adjust to the stifling monotony her life had fallen into. This emptiness eventually led her to the mysterious door that had opened in the Niben Bay.

Rasara had one child, named Aldir in honor of her old companion, Aldra. Aldir was sired by a Dark Seducer that had become close with Rasara during her time in the Shivering Isles, who had come to his untimely death at the hands of Jyggalag during his siege on New Sheoth. Rasara had originally miscarried late into her pregnancy, but managed to sustain the newborn through the profane magic of Relmyna Verenim.

Rindolin

Rindolin was a Bosmer archer and member of the Beastfolk Company in the 4th era. Though he was born in Valenwood, he was taken in at a young age by the denizens of the Shivering Isles after the destruction of his village at the hands of the Thalmor. He was raised alongside his childhood friend, Aldir; the Heir to the Throne of Madness. Rindolin ventured back to the mortal plane in 4E 201 to investigate Sheorasara’s extended vacation at the Blue Palace in Solitude, having joined up with the Beastfolk on the way.

S

Shalidora Psythil Silinbinder (Lidora)

Lidora was the youngest of three siblings, whose parents' hefty expectations mirrored the hefty names they were given at birth. Specifically, Lidora was named after the legendary Arch-Mage Shalidor.

She was born with congenital vision loss, which developed into total blindness early on in her life. Despite this, she didn't get much support from her parents in adapting to her vision loss and was often left in the care of her older sister, Syrabane, who was deeply agoraphobic and spent most of her time studying.

Despite her difficulties, Lidora was incredibly talented in several schools of magic, which earned her an apprenticeship with an enchantress and oracle, who gave her an amulet blessed with divination magic as a parting gift. Though the amulet initially beset Lidora with strange and overwhelming visions, she eventually learned to adapt it into a sort of mobility aid that worked in conjunction with her cane and guide dog.

When the time came to choose an institution to pursue further education, Lidora followed suit in her sister's choice to enroll at Skyrim's College of Winterhold.

Syrabane Andralia Silinbinder

Syrabane was an Altmer healer born in Summerset to the wealthy and well-respected Silinbinder clan. As the eldest daughter, she was expected to care for her younger sister, though she was poorly equipped to do so. She was, nonetheless, a talented mage and scholar. When the time came to choose where she'd continue her studies, she opted to go to the College of Winterhold in Skyrim. She considered it to be one of the few places one could study without political posturing or excessive pretense.

At the college, Syrabane met a fellow apprentice by the name of Weedum, and the two conceived of an interdisciplinary study on the average mercenaries' lifestyle on their mental and emotional wellbeing, which eventually led to the formation of the Beastfolk Company.

T

Teriella Telvanni

Teriella was a Dunmer sorceress born into the Great House Telvanni in the mid-3rd era. She wasn’t fond of her family, and often wished for the violent downfall of her uncle, Master Neloth. She came out as a transgender woman as a young adult, then moved from Sadrith Mora to the Imperial City to study at the Arcane University. Unfortunately, her studies were repeatedly interrupted by the ongoing hostilities between the Mages’ Guild and disgruntled necromancers. This ultimately culminated in her assuming the duties of Arch-Mage.

After Arch-Mage Traven’s death, and the defeat of Mannimarco, Teriella came into contact with a relative of the late Arch-Mage: Julian. He was searching for Traven’s last will and testament on behalf of his mother, and though neither he nor Teriella had managed to find one, the two found great comfort in each other’s company, and eventually fell in love.

Teriella and Julian shared many years of adventures together, which were tragically cut short when the two were caught in a cave-in during a typical expedition into a Dwemer ruin. While Julian didn’t survive, Teriella managed to sustain herself until she could be rescued. Injuries sustained during the incident caused her to become paralyzed in most of her body. Following her recovery, Teriella continued researching Dwemer technology, even adapting it as assistive technology for her own use. She was known as an incredibly successful and long-lived scholar, with an unrivaled mastery of magic and engineering alike.

V

Vele White-Raven

Vele was born in Lost Valley shortly after her family was driven from Markarth by a militia led by Ulfric Stormcloak. Though her father had died protecting their home from the invasion, her mother and two older siblings managed to escape relatively unscathed. Vele was brought up blissfully unaware of the precarious situation her people existed in, believing that Lost Valley and its surrounding settlements were safe havens for the Reachfolk; this illusion of safety was shattered when, at 13, she received the news that her childhood friend’s village had been destroyed by Nord mercenaries, who had slaughtered almost everyone.

Once Vele had reached young adulthood, she departed on a coming-of-age pilgrimage to Eldergleam Sanctuary, which was sacred to her family’s beliefs and traditions. Before she could reach the sanctuary, she was captured in an Imperial ambush and carted off for execution with a small band of Stormcloak rebels, and henceforth became entangled in her destiny as the Last Dragonborn.

On her journey to save the world from Alduin’s maw, she reunited with her childhood friend, who now went by the name of Eloise Motierre. Eloise joined Vele on her adventures, begrudgingly at first, though she soon found herself hopelessly endeared to her old friend. After Alduin’s defeat, the two got married and tried to settle down, ventured off to Solstheim to defeat Miraak, then tried to settle down again, though their success in this matter was a subject of debate.

W

Weedum

Weedum was an Argonian warlock, born in the deepest reaches of Blackmarsh. Although their future as a powerful Tree-Minder was more than secured, they felt overwhelmed by their obligations, and even more-so by the expectations placed upon them by their community. This led them to flee Blackmarsh in pursuit of a self-made destiny, which eventually brought them to the College of Winterhold, and the Beastfolk Company soon after.

X

Xarxes Cyrilian Oradel Silinbinder

Xarxes was the eldest of the three Silinbinder siblings. As a well-respected lawyer and politician within the Summerset Isles, Xarxes was one of the few political dissenters who managed to survive the Third Aldmeri Dominion's wrath. He used this to his advantage often, going so far as to protect Valenwood's communities from the Dominion's quiet eliminations.
